So sad. I’m sorry to hear that for her. I hope she’ll get to be a counselor again. This would be my daughters 3rd year. She loves it so much. Take your family camping this summer !! Rent a basic cabin at a great campground with activities and programs…I went away to summer camp and thats what got me hooked !! I started camping with mine when they turned 2 & 3..Sure we had the teenage bitching years, they swore they would Never camp as adults… All 3 now take their familys at least once a month ! And why not, what not a good idea ? Are you not a camper ? Camping is the ultamate social distancing. I don’t know where you live but I live in Ohio and our Gov Dewine has been a leader that most states follow and he opened camping last week. Campgrounds here open Memorial Day weekend. Once someone said to me, “you pay a lot of money to get rid of your children.” I told my husband and he said you should have answered,”We pay a lot of money to grow our children.” And that we did.

Camp and pools are both closed here! I agree with the closures, but still tough. The lost summer… IL is never opening so camps aren’t even on our radar. We did get word that my daughters intensives have all been cancelled. She’s not happy at all. Ooof my daughter has gone to camp for 10 years, was a counselor/ life guard last year. We got word last night that camp would not happen. The tears, she is missing graduation, prom, all of it, camp was her one hope. So sad today. My 9 year old granddaughter was so looking forward to going to Buffalo Cove in August. I always think they are too young but this one was raring to go. If she gets to come to my house ,we will have to do sleep away camp here. Not the same but I can make a mean lanyard.
