I always decline that badge an every page where it’s offered – it’s stupid. Point out top contributors maybe? But not Top Fan. I’m a Top Fan and I don’t need a badge. Have been offered these too but always ignored them as I wasn’t sure what they were about. So thank you for explanation. The system is flawed. I have been notified I am a “Top Fan” of pages where I have had one or two interactions, total. Another meaningless, annoying and UNASKED FOR marketing ploy. I thought.the homepage owner (or manager) decides who is a “Top Fan.” Or that’s the way it should be. I do t need Facebook to tell me I’m a Top Fan…. I’ve been that since I was 16 years old….. a long time ago….

Appreciate you sharing your thought on this Janis. FB being rather presumptuous to proceed with this “Top Fan” nonsense on peoples pages without asking. I just figured it was more FB bs. I do not need a pat on the back for my choices! Love your music and posts! I was being offered those badges on every page, after just a handful of visits and/or posts. Hardly made me a top fan! But if you don’t accept, the option will continue popping up every couple of minutes to interrupt what you’re doing; no option to decline, just “accept” or “later”. Just one more way FB is tracking us. Thank you for turning it off and a huge thank you for creating and maintaining this page! It is great for us to be able to hear your thoughts and share responses with a music legend. The top fan offers are harassment. They keep interrupting when I’m carefully trying to compose a way to express a complex thought. I wish they’d include a button saying “never do this to me again!”
