Look at the recession of 1920 to see what could have happened without the New Deal. Everything FDR and his New Dealers did made things worse, not better. Hoover and Roosevelt took what could have been a sharp 1-2 year correction and dragged it out into a decade of misery. There weren’t revolutions in 1920, there wouldn’t have been here, he just wrecked things with socialism. Possibly…we never can truly know. We do know that we got through the great depression and ww2 to lead the world with FDR at helm, elected 4 times, so clearly he inspired confidence in a nation that had lost much of its confidence. Thats called leadership, and we sorely needed it then; could use some now too. he sold them a line they bought into, them thinking he was saving them, while he was making their lives worse. Classic cult leader or snake oil salesman. Save me please from this type of “leadership” The Fed has unlimited borrowing capacity at interest rates it sets! Consequences will come later, after current politicians are long gone. Run the presses! Free money! Don’t have to work!!!. Don’t worry, be happy! Collectivist utopia is upon us. Children can now remain children and never grow up! Kindness and compassion will rule forever. Taken care of, finally. that sounds like superstition. There is no evidence to support dire consequences, so you unfoundedly say it will all happen after we’re long gone. But economies are fragile and the fall of the oil prices, losing many small businesses and the destruction of much of the middle class makes dire consequences far more possible.
