The problem with Covid is there is no scientific evidence of anything right now.
That requires extensive testing and peer review. There hasn’t been time to do either of them. At this point experts are making decisions based on hypothesis. And anyone that has ever done a school science fair project knows that a hypothesis is just a guess. a hypotheses is an educated guess. Of course, there are not many definite answers, this is a very new virus. But, as for my family, we would prefer to be uncomfortable and and safe, than sorry and possible dead. that is absolutely your right to stay home and wait out the 18 or so months until a vaccine becomes available or until your family feels safe. And yes an educated guess. Still just a guess. Everyone should be able to make their own choices as to what is best for their family and business. Hate to say it, but this is not going anywhere Any time soon.
Best of luck. I’ve heard several people talk about Morehead City/ Atlantic Beach not enforcing the social distancing and most store and restaurant workers are not wearing mask. In Raleigh aside from the marches most store and restaurant staff are wearing mask. Most people do seem to be wearing mask here for the most part. I live in Newport and I think most people here just look at the reality that *thankfully* our numbers have never been bad here. 40 confirmed cases in 3 months. That’s after spring break and Memorial Day weekend traffic taken into account. I do understand the need for more caution in large, overpopulated areas… and I definitely understand the attitudes of those that have been personally affected by this. At some point, people just want to get back to as normal lives as possible – and if you live in a place where you feel you can safely do that, you should be allowed to.
