However, the dynamic of Heaven and Hell has shifted dramatically due to the events of the season five finale, making it possible the situation could change fast.

How this will impact season six remains unknown, with Netflix not giving anything away about the final season.

Originally the show was just set to have five seasons, however, both the showrunners and Netflix came to an agreement to expand the show for one final season in order to correctly tell the story they were trying to achieve.

Season six is expected to drop in early 2022, though no release date has been confirmed at the time of writing.

Tom Ellis will return as Lucifer and will continue his new role of God of the universe.

Fans should expect more surprises for the final season of the series.
