As in just about all things political, white Americans tend to have much, much more faith in the the American system of governance, security and the American judicial system, while non-whites, particularly native and African-Americans have a different perspective born out of a different experience.
There is a reality about America. White privilege shields some Americans from that reality and creates confusion as to who their allegiances should be with.
The same reason white folks believe the Bush 911 conspiracy theory is the same reason white folks can’t come together and get an American universal healthcare system. It’s the same reason labor unions are so weak and corporations run everything. It’s the same reason we have such shitty mass transit and can only buy cars that get 30 miles per gallon when other countries baseline standards have for a long time been above that shit.
It’s all for the same reason. No solidarity amongs that people. Divisions, fractures and infighting. White folks have been fooled by the carrot of white privilege into siding with super rich elites and against their class interests.
This applies to all Republicans and to most white Democrats who deny black folks leadership within the Democratic Party.
400 years of white privilege
