Every time we do a road trip in the states and we talk to Americans they’re very shocked at the miles we’re willing to do to see things. For a country that has some of the best roads we’ve driven they sure don’t like long distances. Awesome country, I don’t think there’s many countries that are diverse as the states. Desert, thick lush forests, tropical corals, swamps, mountains, lakes and wildlife. Love the place you’re talking to the wrong people. Most Americans in the west have to drive long distances on a regular basis.
I’m from Pennsylvania I drove to south Carolina in 1 day drove to Tennessee in 1 day. Also took a 6 hour trip to Niagara Falls. We love being on the road and seeing everything. I will fly to LA in October. What you recomand? Where do I need to rent a car and to visit? Do I need a car for Los Angeles? Vegas-Canyons, San Diego? I’d drive down to one of my favourite places ‘Dana Point’, I’ve been a few times now and love to take one of the many whale watching charters from there. Plenty to do in L.A but I get away from the cities as fast as possible and with 2020 being the way it is I advise the same…lol
It all depends on what time you have, I did a 3 week road trip once on the west coast which we drove all the way up to Vancouver. We also went to Point Roberts which is a small jetty of land only accessible through Canada but actually is part of America. You have to get your passport stamped but can witness the orcas swim past from the beach chasing the rock salmon. Hollywood sights are good for a day, Vegas is awesome along with the canyon and hiring boats for fishing along the Colorado river. If you like national parks then you won’t beat Yosemite, drive through and come out at Klamath Falls to witness many Osprey and carry on up to Crater Lake. Then on into Oregon and visit Astoria. The list is endless and all depends on what you want. Have your hire car pre booked online to pick up at the airport. Cater it to yourself and don’t stay in one place. Have a great time.
