Yep, we live at a NC beach and I see hardly any people with masks, beaches are packed. We go only on weekdays when it is possible to have our space on the beach. We stay home on the weekend for sure. For me, I have lived down here half of my life. ( I am from N.J.) Having so many friends and family still living up there, I view the virus from how it impacted them. I know that we are two VERY different states, but they have been in a living Hell. My dearest friend lost 4 coworkers in one month! One of these people , also lost a son. Another friend, lost 5 coworkers. I could go on and on about the losses. It has been explained to me , that every one knows one person who has been sick, someone who has passed way, or has been sick themselves. My anxiety comes from their experience, and the fear that it could happen to us here in N.C. I don’t envy anyone who is charged with making these decisions. You know why your cousin’s hot yoga studio can’t open yet. Small space. Inside. The safest place for a group is not inside. The whining about “fair” grows tedious and part of this post is disappointing bc we know u know better. The virus isn’t fair, either. Stay safe. the bigs are not making sense on who is allowed to open and who is not. Who is made to follow rules and who is not. It is not being done fairly. Period. Not here in TN either. Small business – small means owned by a person or 2 not small in space – are being forced out of business while big dogs are being allowed to be open. It is not ethical. Fair is out of the question. It’s right vs wrong. We can not cater to large. We must be better, smarter about how this is all being done. That is the point. Shutting out the small is it’s own form of discrimination. Takes away voices. Takes away freedoms. If Walmart and Lowe’s can be packed why can’t the the small shop where there would not be many people anyway. Did you really tell an adult “you know better than that”.
