We have such fond memories of staying in the tiny towns “uphill” from the Amalfi Coast cities: Sant’Agata sui due Golfi and Conca dei Marini. Staying “off the beaten path” allowed us to immerse ourselves in the day-to-day routines of the coastal natives. Thanks for the beautiful trip back to one of my five favorite places on earth. “despite its crowds and commercialism, Capri is still flat-out gorgeous.” That could go for the whole area, the Amalfi Coast included. I loved Positano soooo much. Yes, there may not be much to do except wander, shop, eat, and laze on that beach. But boy, was that place magic.
I drove in. The road wasn’t so bad to drive on (think of those places in England’s West Country, where the little roads turn into half a lane each way, and you have to be careful going forward, and sometimes you have to back it up so both cars–or your car and a bus–can get through). The only bad thing was being unable to take more than a split-second to stare at that view! Don’t want to hurtle off the edge! Thank you Rick for helping to keep my precious memories alive. I too want to travel again and hope we can all get over this COVID time and this most corrupt president. It will be a joy when European countries will allow Americans to enter their countries. Thank you for your wonderful world view! Nope, the cases are mostly Freshmen and tied to large gatherings. That’s how it was described to me. I hope they had a fun week at college. I feel bad for the students who actually did follow the rules. Saw so many parents on TV taking their kids back to campus. All talking about how important the “college experience” is. What part of “it can’t be the same” didn’t they get.
