I feel the same way. My son is biracial. The idea of his beautiful skin tone being perceived as threatening to someone and that becoming a danger to my only boy terrifies me. you can raise your son to be the best person he can be, but it still will not stop him from being black. Jean Botham was killed in his home. He was avoiding situations and people. Arbury, was exercising, avoiding conflicts and situations, but yet he is dead. Yup this is why black men are how we are…and the rest of the world enjoys liberties and pursuits of happiness that we’re grossly kept away from. I’m so sorry but that’s not true it’s been so many families of color that has raised the child right and he or she was still gunned down like a dog in the street, it doesn’t matter how polite we are we are still being hunted. The victim was black, tho; African American. That’s not the same as a mixed child because there will be a white parent around. It’s not to be disrespectful, but biracial is not the same as BLACK. white people sorry to burst ya bubble but bi racial men and black men have 2 very different walks of life. Bi racial boys/men don’t have to go through no where near as much stuff as we do. Has your bi racial son every had to call you and say hey mom I just got pulled over by the police if you dont hear from me just know I didn’t kill myself and I didn’t attack the police. Has your bi racial son every applied for a job and lost it to a lesser qualified white person? Has your bi racial soon ever been a student at a school that is under funded, under staffed and limited resources all because of the school is predominantly black and where its located? Not saying bi racial people don’t go through things but to sit here and say they go through just as much as black men is a bold face lie. White or bi racial yall will NEVER EVER know what is it like to be a black man or black woman. Stop covering up the white guilt with bi racial kids. Bi racial kids will always have the completion for the protection.
