the Armenians the same courtesy we show the Jewish people and acknowledge their day of mourning instead of putting it aside for the holocaust day today ?? I’m sure the Jewish people can find any other day other then today to mourn their horrible holocaust
- Covering up the Armenian genocide remembrance day by making it holocaust remembrance week…. Shame on you Donald, even Christians can be Zionists as you can see.
- It is a shame to ignore the Armenian genocide and all of the people it had an impact on let alone state this week as a remembrance for one holocaust and not for this one. We would like to see our heritage recognized and the death of our ancestors recognized. One is not more important than the other and it’s sad that is how it is perceived.
- Jews were killed because noone had the guts to punish turkey…hitlers famous words before killing the jews “who remembers the Armenians^…if turks, got punished there wouldnt be no holocaust, no rwanda, no isis, etc…so mr trump, great job on turning your back on justice and empowering evil
- I can’t believe this was signed on Armenian Genocide Day, a day marking the genocide that the US refuses to acknowledge. What a slap in the face to the Armenian people worldwide. Such disrespect
Sad that you did not mention the Armenian Holocaust, which had traditionally been recognized today. The Jewish Holocaust is in January and this recognition, while well written, is an insult to Armenians. Perhaps this is politically motivated, not wanting to piss off Turkey?
Or perhaps you are trying to correct the insincerity shown the Jews during the January recognition? Whatever the motivation, how about we make the Holocaust recognition week inclusive of all nationalities that have suffered the atrocities of others, and let’s include the American Indians in that list, as our nation is as guilty of genocide as others
Great to recognize the Jewish Holocaust. You do realize you announced this on the same day we remember the Armenian Genocide right? You could have done a dual proclamation. Mr. President you are a strong man not afraid of politics. Please officially recognize the Armenian Genocide. Thank you.
